Glossary

An organization is a virtual and structural representation.
It brings together all users, groups, and instantiated modules.

A user is a virtual entity that corresponds to a unique and identifiable user account linked to a unique login–password pair.
A user can belong to several groups.

A group is a set of unique users.
Groups can carry roles (organizational, module, project) that members automatically inherit.

Members are all users and user groups that can access a module, a project, or certain virtual entities.

A module is the instance of a specific DataChain product.
Multiple modules of the same product can be instantiated (DC Core, DC Code, DC Maestro, etc …​).

Roles allow assigning a set of rights to a user or a group.
Roles can be direct and/or inherited from one or more groups.
There are roles at different scopes across the platform.
