General - Linear, Circular and Bar Gauges
The graphic function of DataChain is accessible from the HandleData module .
The number of DataChain graphs that can be created is not limited.
This function allows you to present data sources in the form of graphs. Several types of graphs are available.
Linear Gauge
Circular Gauge
Gauge Bar
Like other components, DataChain charts can be integrated into Tableaux de Bords .
Creating a Gauge chart
List of existing graphics
The creation of a graph (like all operations on presentations) is carried out from the HandleData module
- Step 1
-
-
Access HandleData module
-
Choose, in the left menu HandleData, the option Chart associated with the icon
-
Metadata
- 2nd step
-
-
Click on the button
-
A screen allows you to choose the type of graph you want:
-
To create a Circular Gauge chart choose the icon
-
To create a Linear Gauge chart choose the icon
-
To create a Gauge bar type chart choose the icon
-
-
Each graph has a metadata panel. Entering a short description is required.
-
Optional input areas allow for more description. An icon can thus be assigned to a graphic.
-
It is advisable to save the metadata panel as soon as you enter it. Use the button
located in the right part of the top banner of the graph creation screen.
Tab - Data Sources
- Step 3
-
-
At least one data source is required to create a chart. Use the btn-ajouter-source.svg[add source] icon to access the list of available sources. cf DataBlock Documentation
-
The proposed sources are related to the rights of the current user.
It is possible, on the fly, to integrate a file with a separator.
To do this, use the Rapid Integration function via the
icon located in the HandleData application banner.
Sources are powered by DataBlocks.
It is possible, at the level of each source, to carry out operations making it possible to adapt, for a presentation, the blocks of original data by clicking on the icon
Displays a succession of operations such as generation of formulas, filters, aggregations, sorting and modification of labels and types are available.
The Dates display format must be defined in the third step to be visible in the Viewer.
- Step 4
-
The list of available sources is presented in the form of a table. In the proposed list, choose one (or more) sources then double-click on the line or use the button
to assign the source to the graph.
Refreshes the list of available sources
Validates source assignment.
It is necessary, before this operation, to choose a source by selecting a line in the table of sources
Return to the list of sources assigned to the graph
Unlike TimeLines or Maps, only one source can be affected
- Step 4 Bis (optional)
-
-
If necessary, the user can make changes to the chosen sources.
-
Added formulas creating new values
-
Generation of filters
-
Sorts
-
Aggregations
-
-
In this case, select one of the sources assigned to the current graph. Use the
icon located at the end of the line (or click on the source label). Then make the necessary changes. Save the changes using the
button then the
icon to return to the list of sources for the current graph.

-
Position: Specifies the position of the legend
-
either inside the graph (Interior)
-
or outside the graph (Outside).
-
-
Orientation: Specifies the orientation of the legend
-
is horizontal
-
is vertical.
-
-
Vertical alignment: Specifies the location of the legend, top (Top), bottom (Bottom) or centered (Center).

-
Scroll: Specifies whether scrolling is active or inactive.
-
Export: Specifies whether the panel used to export the graph is active or inactive. Possible exports are: PNG, JPEG, PDF, SVG and print module
-
Inverted: Rotates the graph by 90°. The ordinate axis becomes a horizontal axis and the abscissa becomes a vertical axis.
-
Tooltip: Allows to define the content of the tooltip. All the columns of the source can be integrated into it.
Gauge Linear
Setup
-
value: Value represented on the gauge.
-
Indicator: Format of the indicator representing the value.
-
Color: Color of the indicator representing the value.
-
-
Orientation: Linear gauge direction.
-
either horizontal
-
is vertical.
-
-
Scale
-
Start: Minimum value of the linear gauge.
-
End: Maximum value of the linear gauge.
-
Interval: Value of the splits between the minimum value and the maximum value
-
-
Slicing: The slicing makes it possible to define several zones between the minimum and the maximum. A color can be specified for each zone. n cutting are possible.
-
Start: Start value of the zone
-
End: End value of the zone
-
Color: sets a color to the cutout area
-
Color: from column of the data source. Allows you to define a source column containing a color reference.
-
Gauge Bar
Setup
-
Geometry: Allows you to define the shape of the bar gauge, ie the shape of the arch.
Two values are required:
-
an angle value for the start position.
-
an angle value for the end position. These values are expressed in degrees.
-
Angle start: Value in degrees of the start angle
-
End of angle: Value in degrees of the end angle
-
Terminals
-
-
Start value: Allows you to specify the value corresponding to the start of the bar gauge.
-
End value: Allows you to specify the value corresponding to the end of the bar gauge.
-
value: Used to define the value of a bar. (n are possible)
-
-
Fixed color: Allows you to define the color that is assigned to the bar. Note that if a column is defined in the following parameter (color from a column) and the color value is not compliant, the fixed color defined will then be assigned by default.
-
Color from source column: Allows you to define a column containing color values in hexadecimal format (example #00FFFF). Note that if a color value is not compliant, the defined fixed color will be assigned by default.
-
Circular GAUGE
Setup
-
Value: Reference value positioned on the circular left
-
Geometry: Allows you to define the shape of the circular gauge, namely the shape of the arch. Two values are required:
-
Angle value for start
-
End value These values are expressed in degrees
-
Angle start terminal: Value in degrees of the start angle
-
End of angle bound: Value in degrees of the end angle
-
-
-
Scale
-
Start: Allows you to specify the value corresponding to the start of the circular gauge.
-
End: Allows you to specify the value corresponding to the end of the circular gauge.
-
Interval Allows to define the value of the sub-interval between the start value and the end value.
-
-
Cutout: Allows you to define a range of the circle. A range is defined by a start value, an end value, and a color. (n possible)
-
Start: Start value of the splitting
-
End: End of splitting value
-
Fixed Color: Allows you to define the color that is assigned to the bar. Note that if a column is defined in the following parameter (Color from a column) and the color value is not compliant, the fixed color defined will be assigned by default.
-
Color from source column: Allows you to define a column containing color values in hexadecimal format (example #00FFFF). Note that if a color value does not conform, the default color will be assigned.
-
-
Terminals
-
Value: Allows n sub-values to be positioned at the level of the circular gauge. (n possible)
