Cartographic representation
The Cartography representation of the HandleData module allows you to build a presentation of data from 1 or more Datablocks (layerData) on 1 or more base maps. Basemaps can come from different suppliers (LayersMap). Note that, for some base maps, a token or license key may be required
The Cards function of DataChain is accessible from the HandleData module
The number of Cards that can be created is not limited.
In a single Maps presentation, several data sources can be integrated.
Like other components, Cartography representations can be integrated into Tableaux de Bords.
Create a Map
Card List
The creation of a Card (like all operations on Cards) is carried out from the HandleData module
- Step 1
-
-
Access HandleData module
-
Choose, in the left menu HandleData, the option Maps associated with the icon
-
Metadata
- 2nd step
-
-
Click on the button.
-
Each Card has a metadata panel. Entering a label is required.
-
Optional input areas allow for more description. An icon can thus be assigned to the metadata panel of a map.
-
It is advisable to save this panel as soon as you enter it. Use the button
located in the right part of the banner of the Map screen.
Tab - Data Sources
- Step 3
-
-
At least one data source is required to create a Map. Use the icon
to access the list of available sources. cf DataBlocks Documentation
-
The proposed sources are related to the rights of the current user.
-
It is possible to integrate, on the fly, a file with a separator. To do this, use the Quick Integration function via the icon
located in the top banner of the *HandleData* application.
-
Sources are powered by DataBlocks.
It is possible, at the level of each source, to carry out operations making it possible to adapt, for a presentation, the blocks of original data by clicking on the icon
Displays a succession of operations such as generation of formulas, filters, aggregations, sorting and modification of labels and types are available.
The Dates display format must be defined in the third step to be visible in the Viewer.
- Step 4
-
In the proposed list, choose one (or more) sources then double-click on the line or use the
button to assign the source to the current Map -
Note that this operation can be performed multiple times.
- Step 4 Bis (optional)
-
-
If necessary, the user can make changes to the chosen sources.
-
Generation of filters
-
Sorts
-
In this case, select one of the sources assigned to the current Card. Use the icon
located at the end of the line (or click on the label of the source). Then make the necessary changes. Save them using the icon
then the icon
to return to the list of sources for the Map in Classes.=== Tab - Settings
-
Data Sources made available to be represented must contain columns with values in GeoJson format for Line, MultiLine, Polygon, Multi-Polygon and Point type representations. Points can also be represented by two separate columns containing Latitude and Longitude values.
-
Basemap configuration area.
-
Positioning area of options available in viewing mode
-
Zone for setting the data to represent.
Note that this zone contains all the configured sources. For each source, n types of presentation can be defined
Basemap settings
Integrated Basemap:
OpenStreetMap: Unconstrained MapBox: Requests an API key and a basemap id OpenTopoMap: Unconstrained
Custom map background:
It is possible to integrate custom base maps. To do this, choose the Customize option in the list of map backgrounds.
It is then essential to specify a Url of the supplier of base maps as well as the name of the supplier.
General viewing options
Legend: Indicates whether the legend is present or not, in visualization mode.
Address bar: Indicates whether or not an address bar allowing you to enter a specific address is present in view mode.
Drawing area: Indicates whether the drawing tools are available in visualization mode.
Note that drawings made in viewing mode with the drawing toolbar are not saved
Parameterization of the data to be represented on the Map
To be integrated on a base map, the geometry data must be in GeoJson format
Points Setup Area
To display Points on a background map, several options are available
-
Choice of geometry type (Choose Point)
-
Column containing Latitude values
-
Column containing Longitude values
-
Label: Free input. This label will be the label present in the legend (Required)
-
Point representation icon. The icon is chosen from the catalog of instance pictograms. An icon is proposed by default.
-
Column containing the id of the icon used for the representation of the point. If for a source line this value is empty (or null) then the icon specified in
is assigned.
-
Choice of clustering (or not) of points.
If the number of points represented on the map is large, it is advisable to set the Cluster option to Yes
-
If the Latitude and Longitude zones are not entered, it is possible to specify here a column of the source containing a string containing the Latitude and Longitude in GeoJson format.
-
Used to define the content of the Tooltip. All the columns present in the source are available
-
Allows to delete the configuration panel of a representation.
