General - Pictograms

The Pictograms management function of DataChain is accessible from the GenericsData module. Logo Generics Data. From the Left Menu of GenericsData, choose the menu plus.svg, then the submenu Pictograms.

The Pictograms are consumed:

  • at metadata level

  • at representation element level HandleData Logo HandleData especially the TimeLine module or the Maps module.

A Pictogram consists of a caption and a png or svg type file.

Creation of a Pictogram

Two situations are possible for the creation of Pictograms

  • Either from the Pictograms management function

  • Either when setting up a representation such as a TimeLine or a Map.

Creation by the Pictogram Management function

  • Access the GenericsData module. Logo GenericsData

  • Choose Menu plus.svg

  • Choose sub-menu Pictograms

ListPictogram

1 The New button is used to add a Pictogram to the repository.

2 Allows you to edit a pictogram to change its label.

3 Removes a pictogram from the repository.

4 List of existing Pictograms.

5 Used to open a pane in the table of pictograms in order to find out all the DataChain elements where the pictogram is assigned to the metadata.

To integrate a pictogram into the repository:

  • Use button New

The integration screen of a pictogram makes it possible to

  • Specify the wording of the pictogram

  • Assign a file in *svg or png format using the Choose a file function

Once the configuration is done. Click on the Save button.

Editing a Pictogram

  • GenericData module genericsData-color.png.png.

  • Menu plus.svg

  • Submenu Pictograms

ListPictogram

  • Once the list of pictograms is displayed, find your pictogram in the table. Use the search function:

    • either at the level of the column header

    • or by the global search function located at the top and to the right of the table

  • Click on the label of the pictogram or on the icon edit at the end of the line.

Make the desired changes then save

Removal of a Pictogram

  • GenericsData module genericsData-color.png.png.

  • Menu plus.svg

  • Submenu Pictograms

ListChart

Once the list of Pictograms is displayed, find your pictogram in the table. Use the search function either at the level of the column header, or by the global search function located at the top and to the right of the table.

  • Click on the icon quatre at the end of the line.

Use of Pictograms

  • Pictograms are used to provide visual character to DataChain elements.

The modifier link allows you to change the pictogram assigned to the metadata.

  • pictograms are used when setting up TimeLines and Maps in the HandleData module Logo Generics Data
