Communication with a DataChain Instance

To add DataChain tasks, DC-Maestro must communicate with a DataChain Instance.

DataChain Instances must be referenced in DC-Maestro to be visible to DC-Maestro users. The Instance must be selected as a Working Instance by the user in order to access its Projects items.

To fully utilize DC-Maestro’s functionality, the Instance must be connected Connected and selected Selected by a user to create and modify Schedules.

Once communication is established with a DataChain Instance, the user can view existing Schedules and create new ones.

Each Schedule is linked to a single DataChain Project: all available elements are conditioned by the selected Project. The Schedule creator is the Owner: DC-Maestro uses the Owner’s account to query DataChain.
The Owner’s global permissions, rights on elements and DataChain Projects condition their availability in the lists but also the successful execution of the tasks.

If the Working Instance is not reachable, it is always possible to consult all its Schedules and their history of executions but it is impossible to create new Schedules since the Projects cannot be recovered.

Regardless of whether you are logged in or not, if a DataChain Instance is not reachable, no task can be executed: in this case all Schedules being executed will fail.
