Frequently asked questions
I can’t create a Schedule
To create Schedules, DC-Maestro needs to communicate with a DataChain Instance.
If no DataChain Instance is available from the Instances list, a user with the DC-Maestro administrator role must reference the DataChain Instance(s) used by the company.
If an Instance is already selected, it is possible that it is not available (lost synchronization) or that it is unreachable (wrong Instance settings).
In this case, go back to the Instances list and select a reachable Instance or contact a DC-Maestro administrator to inform him/her of the problem encountered.
I can’t add a task to the Schedule
If you are not the Owner or contributor of the Schedule, you cannot add tasks.
If you have any of these roles, it is possible that the selected Instance is not available or unreachable.
In this case, it is possible to view the existing Schedules, but it is not possible to add DataChain tasks.
Go back to the list of Instances and select a reachable Instance or contact a DC-Maestro administrator if the problem persists.

Details
Several problems may be encountered
-
the DataChain Instance is inaccessible
-
the Project has expired or been deleted
-
the element has been deleted or you no longer have rights to it
I don’t see any DataChain Projects in the list when I create a Schedule
To ensure full traceability on actions performed via DC-Maestro, task execution relies on user rights in DataChain.
You must therefore be a member of the Project in which you wish to Schedule and execute tasks.
To be added to a Project, contact a DataChain Project Manager.
I want to disable automatic scheduling for 2 weeks
It is possible to deactivate the recurrence directly from the Schedules list, by clicking on the action menu at the end of the line, or from the "Settings" tab of the Schedule page.
Select "Inactive" in the area dedicated to the execution.
As soon as you want to restart the automatic execution, reactivate it.
How to Schedule tasks to optimize the data processing chain?
Each Schedule has a unique objective. A good knowledge of the data available in DataChain is essential to meet this specific need.
Good metadata management of DataChain elements facilitates data manipulation in DC-Maestro.
I can’t dereference a DataChain Instance
If a DataChain Instance contains Schedules that have already been executed, it is not possible to dereference it.
The tasks in my Schedule are failing, how do I fix this?
From a Schedule’s run list or history, click on the task status icon to display the run log page.
A lot of information is displayed to help you understand how to solve the problem.
Most of the time, either the rights or permissions of the Owner block the correct execution of the tasks, or the DataChain elements have been deleted.
