Communication with a DataChain Instance
To add DataChain tasks, DC-Maestro must communicate with a DataChain Instance.
DataChain Instances must be referenced in DC-Maestro to be visible to DC-Maestro users. The Instance must be selected as a Working Instance by the user in order to access its Projects items.
To fully utilize DC-Maestro’s functionality, the Instance must be connected

Once communication is established with a DataChain Instance, the user can view existing Schedules and create new ones.
-
Each schedule is linked to a single DataChain Project*: all the elements available depend on the selected Project.
-
The creator of the schedule is the Owner*: DC-Maestro uses the Owner’s account to query DataChain.
-
The global permissions, as well as the rights to the Owner’s DataChain items and Projects, determine whether the tasks are carried out correctly.
Regardless of whether you are logged in or not, if a DataChain Instance is not reachable, no task can be executed: in this case all Schedules being executed will fail.
